Notice of the Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Hindu Society of Ottawa-Carleton will be held on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 at 4:00 pm at City View United Church (map on the next page),  6 Epworth Avenue, Nepean, ON K2G 2L5. The AGM will be followed by our annual Appreciation Dinner (refer to next page)

We appreciate your participation in the AGM and look forward to your ideas for service to the Community. In case you are unable to attend but would like to be represented, please complete the enclosed Proxy Form and forward it to us by Saturday, April 14th, 2012.

The office term of the following EC members ends with the AGM of Apr 22, 2012: Dr. Jayant Pathak, Mr. Satish Bhatia, Mrs. Mythili Kalyanasundaram, Mr. Vas Dev Aggarwal. You are invited to suggest names of members in good standing in 2011 and 2012 to serve on the Executive Committee for a term of three years. In accordance with Section 8.12 of the Constitution, the present incumbents will continue for another term of three years in case no new members are elected for any reason.

A Nomination Form is enclosed.  Please send it to any member of the Nominating Committee or to our address by April 14, 2012, or hand it in person. You may also send any resolution in writing, duly supported by another eligible member to the Executive Committee for consideration by the AGM by April 14, 2011.

Members who have donated $100 or more in the year 2011 or at least a month before the AGM in the year 2012 are treated as “eligible” to vote. Non-members are welcome to observe the proceedings.
